The Journey Begins . . .

Four months ago I decided that there was a huge gap in the machine shop offerings of this area—even in most of South Carolina. As part of the machining industry in South Carolina, I could see that many companies would benefit from having a local offering for their precision tooling and parts production. That fact, along with a need for a shift in my personal career direction, lead me to consider starting my own machine shop which specializes in precision production.

After conversations with industry leaders, I knew the idea was viable. Since that day, four months ago, I have set up a small shop that has some giant equipment in it. On the floor is a 5-axis CNC machine from Haas Automation; a Haas lathe with a max. cutting length of 26” and a cutting diameter of 21”; an ID/OD grinder; and a surface grinder. And, it doesn’t end on the shop floor—we have an entire room dedicated to quality control and CAD CAM programming.

The shop is called Jacob Grey Precision Machining and we are celebrating our grand opening this Thursday with an open house and ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Please stop by and see us.
